Jamie leads in new movie called ‘The Siege of Jadotville’!

Irish actor Jamie Dornan is coming back to Dublin for his next movie role. Jamie will head the cast of political thriller The Siege of Jadotville.

The movie – to be filmed in Dublin and South Africa next Spring – will mark Jamie’s first lead role after landing the part of Mr Grey in Fifty Shades.

Based on a true story, the film centres on the siege of 150 UN Irish troops in the Congo in 1961. Dornan will play Commandant Pat Quinlan, who led the troops during the crisis.

The thriller will be filmed by first-time director Richie Smyth, who has previously filmed dozens of commercials and music videos for acts like Bon Jovi and U2, and produced by Alan Maloney of Irish film company Parallel Films.

“I can’t wait to get stuck into Jadotville,” Jamie said of his new role. “It’s an unbelievable story and Commandant Pat Quinlan is going to be a treat of a character to tackle.”
